If you are anything like me, you are itching for the Arrow to return April 26th to see how Team Arrow is going to cope with Prometheus (Josh Segarra) and the plethora of complications he has given to Star City.

An interesting tidbit of information was released recently by the show’s producers with some teases about the Season 5 finale (the title of which is currently being hidden from us). Here is what Wendy Mericle had to say about the finale:

“The alliances are going to be very surprising. You’re not going to believe who Oliver is working with to defeat Prometheus. It’s going to be really emotional. It’s going to be all about Oliver’s family, but not the family we’re thinking of right now. It’s going to end in a giant explosion, but not where we think it’s going to end, and the emotional punch is going to be bigger than the actual physical part of the bombs going off.”

This is quite an interesting bit of information to be teased with. First of all, executive producer Marc Guggenheim has already went on the record to ensure that Star City is (for once) not in danger of being wiped off the map. This is great news because we have all grown weary of the city always being on the verge of being destroyed. Guggenheim also stated that “the finale doesn’t even take place in the city” which has led many to believe that the episode will be set in Lian Yu. (Note, there has not been an official confirmation that Lian Yu will be the location of the finale, but that would certainly be a cool prospect.)

Second, the alliances Oliver (Stephen Amell) makes are going to be “surprising” and “emotional”. Apparently, we “aren’t going to believe” who will be helping him to defeat Prometheus. That sounds so interesting to me. Who could possibly be coming to Oliver’s aid that would take us off guard? Katie Cassidy (Laurel Lance) is set to return the last two episodes of the season, perhaps she will be helping out? Both Manu Bennett (Slade Wilson) and Nick Tarabay (Captain Boomerang) have been pretty active on their Twitter pages teasing Arrowverse things. If the finale is indeed on Lian Yu, could Oliver be cutting a deal or asking two people he put away in prison on the island for help? Any of those characters would certainly pack quite an emotional punch and catch us off guard. Personally, I’m still holding off to see Walter Steele (Colin Salmon) make a grand return to the show!
