The Heroes & Aliens PaleyFest panel just wrapped up and, boy, Flash fans, do we have some cool news for you via executive producer Andrew Kreisberg!

His first announcement of the day was that Season 4 will be the first season to not have an evil speedster as a big bad. The first season, we were introduced to the man who murdered Barry’s (Grant Gustin) mother, Eobard Thawne (Tom Cavanagh/Matt Letscher), aka the Reverse Flash. The second season, Hunter Zolomon (Teddy Sears) joined Team Flash and was later revealed to be Zoom, the man who would go on to murder Barry’s father. Finally, this season, we have Savitar (Tobin Bell), the self-proclaimed god of speed who holds Iris’ (Candice Patton) life in his hands.

If next season is anything like this one, the new villain will be announced at San Diego Comic-Con in July, so stay tuned for when that news gets released! Some of The Flash‘s most interesting fights have been against non-speedsters (meta-human or not) so it’ll be very interesting to see who they choose and how much of a threat they can be to the fastest man alive.

The second announcement of the night is that episode 3×19–the episode directed by none other than Tom Cavanagh–will be titled ‘The Once and Future Flash’. Kreisberg revealed that Barry will realize that the only way to get what he needs is to head to the future! If you liked Barry traveling to the past last season in ‘Flash Back’, the future should prove to be even more exciting as both we and Barry have no idea what awaits him there!

This episode comes right on the heels of ‘Abra Kadabra’, the episode which will have the titular villain arrive from Earth-19 and the future with news about who Savitar really is.

The Flash returns with the Supergirl musical crossover ‘Duet’, airing on March 21st at 8/7c on The CW.
