Remember these two exciting articles from two months ago announcing the returns of Robbie Amell and Rick Cosnett to The Flash? Well, those reappearances are finally happening…maybe just not how you would expect. In what executive producer Andrew Kreisberg calls a “semi-sequel” to last season’s ‘The Runaway Dinosaur’, in his attempt to save Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale), Barry (Grant Gustin) is returning to the Speed Force where he’ll be meeting manifestations of Ronnie Raymond (Amell), Eddie Thanwe (Cosnett)…and Leonard Snart (Wentworth Miller). Here’s how Kreisberg described next week’s episode:

“Barry makes another journey into the Speed Force and it’s a very different kind of journey. Last time, in a way, it was like he went to heaven, and this time it’s more like going to hell — it’s more about descending deeper and deeper into levels of hell. We get a little bit more about the Speed Force mythology and speedsters’ connection to it.”

That comment about “speedsters’ connection to” the Speed Force makes me think that Barry will be reminded that Cisco (Carlos Valdes) can disrupt that connection (just like Gypsy did to Wally back in 3×11)…but, for now, I just have to keep my fingers crossed.

The photo gallery for the episode shows Barry’s confrontations with Speed Force!Ronnie, Speed Force!Eddie, and Speed Force!Lenny. I would also say Speed Force!Jay (John Wesley Shipp), but these photos actually do make it seem like it’s really him in the Speed Force with Barry!

The trailer for the episode almost looks like one for a horror movie. Cisco vibes Barry into the Speed Force where he faces old allies and old enemies. And is that the baby Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) never got to have with Ronnie?!?!?
