Earlier this season on Legends of Tomorrow, it seemed like things might be getting cozy between Mick Rory (Dominic Purcell) and Amaya Jiwe (Maisie Richardson-Sellers). Alas, it turns out there’s nothing happening between those two, after all.
In a new snippet from Entertainment Weekly, Purcell pours cold water on the idea of a Heat Wave/Vixen romance. “No, there’s no relationship going on between Amaya and Heat Wave,” he says. “It’s more of an emotional connection.”
That’s a bit of a shame. Although the two made for a strange pairing, it was interesting to see someone finally make something of a connection with Rory.
“No, there’s no relationship going on between Amaya and Heat Wave.”
In last week’s episode, it actually seemed as though something might have been going on between Ray (Brandon Routh) and Amaya, as their denials about sleeping together seemed just a little too on the nose.
The Return of Captain Cold
Purcell also told EW that Wentworth Miller’s return as Captain Cold could send Rory back on a path to the dark side. “I don’t think Mick is a good guy,” he says, “and there’s a lot of history there. Mick loves Cold.”
Captain Cold’s membership in the Legion of Doom is sure to set up some fireworks this season, as his character had essentially come full circle last season. In the end, he even sacrificed himself to save the rest of the team.
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow airs Tuesday nights at 9/8c on The CW.
