‘Legends of Tomorrow’: Extended Trailer for ‘Raiders of the Lost Art’

Rip Hunter is back!

Well, sort of. Arthur Darvill returns in the newest trailer for the Legends of Tomorrow midseason premiere, but his character isn’t quite himself.

Rip’s been reprogrammed and now thinks he’s an American film student in 1967. Things get a little dicey when the team tries to convince him of his true identity.

Ripped Off

Here’s the full synopsis for ‘Raiders of the Lost Art’:

LOST MEMORIES — When Damien Darhk (guest star Neal McDonough) and Malcolm Merlyn (guest star John Barrowman) try to capture Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) in 1967, they create an Aberration big enough to draw the attention of the Legends.  However, when the team arrives they discover that Rip has no memories of his past due to “time drift” and is just a graduate film student.

After trying to convince Rip of who he was, they discover that he possesses an incredibly powerful artifact known as the Spear of Destiny, which the Legion of Doom is after. Ray (Bradon Routh) and Nate (Nick Zano) realize that the Aberration has also affected them personally making it difficult to help the team.  Meanwhile, Rory (Dominic Purcell) asks Stein (Victor Garber) for help and makes him promise to keep it a secret from the team.

I’ve Got a Bad Feeling About This

Although it’s not mentioned in either the synopsis or the trailer, Star Wars creator George Lucas (played by actor Matt Angel) actually plays a large role in the plot.

John Barrowman Teases a Possible Return to the Arrowverse

Lucas drops out of film school in 1967 in the episode, which means he never goes on to create Star Wars or the Indiana Jones films. Since those two franchises inspired Nate and Ray to pursue their respective career paths, it creates a huge problem for the Legends.

Legends of Tomorrow returns from its winter hiatus with a new date and time on Tuesday, January 24 at 9/8c following The Flash.
