Just as new details about The Flash and Arrow have been released this week, so have some new revelations about Supergirl. We’re only a few weeks away from the show’s return from winter hiatus, so any tidbits we can glean are always exciting.
Executive producer Ali Adler previewed the remainder of Season 2 for TV Line and dropped a few hints along the way. There are a lot of characters keeping secrets this season, but that’s finally about to change.
Secrets and Lies
“A lot of secrets have been brewing this season,” says Adler. She also promises “we’ll get definitive answers” when the show returns.
First of all, we’re finally going to learn what Mon-El has been hiding all season long, as well as why he claimed not to remember “that almost unsatisfying kiss” with Kara.
“We’ll explore more of that relationship,” says Adler. “Kara still has to figure out how she feels about him.”
Another new relationship will also be explored, as Maggie and Alex experience some “complications.”
Meanwhile, some exciting changes might be in the wings for Winn, as he learns “what it means to be a hero” and will “get a little taste of love” for himself.
Frenemies and Foes
Adler also says Kara and Lena will grow “closer,” which is a frightening prospect given Lena’s family connections.
As previously reported, a whole host of new enemies will be cropping up, including the popular villain Mr. Mxyzptlk. Adler says Mxyzptlk is “a really funny character, and we’re going to get a lot of that humor.”
Supergirl returns on Monday, January 23 at 8/7c on The CW.
