The CW is shaking up the schedule for midseason, moving some shows around, shelving a few others, and debuting several new ones. As it turns out, the changes will impact the DC/CW lineup, as the reliable Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday lineup will see a change.

The New Tuesday Powerhouse

Starting on January 24, 2017, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will move to Tuesdays. The show will air at 9/8c following new episodes of The Flash. (Supernatural will move up to take over Legends‘ old Thursday spot, followed by the new series Riverdale.)

The new timeslot won’t be around for long, though. Unlike its siblings, Legends doesn’t have a full 22-episode season order. Originally, only 13 episodes were ordered, but last week The CW issued a back order for four more. That means the season finale of Legends will air in April, with iZombie then taking over the post-Flash spot.

The ratings for Legends of Tomorrow are down this season overall, but fans shouldn’t start to worry just yet. The move to Tuesday nights is driven more by the need to strengthen the overall lineup and should help bolster ratings next spring.

Still, it’s going to be weird watching The Flash and Legends on the same night, and with Legends airing earlier in the week than Arrow.
