In just a little over two weeks, the event five years in the making kicks off on The CW. On November 28th, Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes) will cross the multiverse once again to recruit the Girl of Steel herself. They’re going to need all the help they can get as Earth-1 will be facing its biggest threat yet: the Dominators, a powerful alien race targeting the planet’s growing population of meta-humans.
When Entertainment Weekly visited the set of the crossover, they witnessed super heroic feats such as Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) flying, The Flash and Vibe tearing a hole in the universe…and someone getting shot (though they wouldn’t say who). Additionally, as part of their cover story for the week, they released four incredible photos from each episode of the crossover that may or may not bring a tear to your eye.
First up is a shot that may look somewhat familiar: The Flash and Green Arrow (Stephen Amell) teaming up. What’s different here, though? It looks like they’re hiding from Spartan (David Ramsey). One explanation: These are mind-controlling aliens. In their article, EW hinted at the fact that we may be seeing our favorite heroes involuntarily fighting each other. (Anyone else having ‘Flash vs. Arrow’ feels?)
Second is a photo that’s truly epic on all accounts: one large group shot of almost every hero from every show. Many of them have met before but many are also meeting for the first time. Seeing all of these different characters interact is going to be incredibly interesting, to say the least. Oh, and did we mention that this photo grants us our first official look at Citizen Steel’s (Nick Zano) star-spankin’ new costume?
Next up is basically just that moment I mentioned above but it’s still very cool to actually see. After his best friend accidentally landed in National City back in March, Cisco is finally meeting Kara. Now he just needs to meet her tech-loving, pop culture-referencing, supersuit-making best friend…
And here’s where the tears may start shedding. Hearts around the globe broke when the Black Canary (Katie Cassidy) was stabbed with an arrow by Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough) back in Arrow‘s fourth season. Hearts then shattered when Sara (Caity Lotz) found out about Laurel’s death and begged Rip (Arthur Darvill) to let her save her. It was revealed a few months ago that Cassidy would be returning for Arrow‘s 100th episode and here, we get our first glimpse at just what that return is going to look like. Is this Sara helping Laurel get ready for…her wedding? It sure looks like it. Only time will tell, though, how this scenario is even possible.
EW also released an adorable behind-the-scenes video of the casts’ photo shoot. In it, Amell and Lotz reveal their very specific and true-to-character reactions to the last daughter of Krypton.
While executive producer Marc Guggenheim revealed at the #Arrow100 party what the episode titles are going to be for the Arrow and Legends portions of the crossover (and strongly hinted at what the Flash title was going to be), we haven’t heard yet what the episode of Supergirl where she gets recruited is going to be called…until yesterday. KryptonSite tweeted that it will be titled ‘Medusa’. The Gorgon from Greek mythology has been adapted for the DC universe and even did battle with Wonder Woman so, while it might seem unlikely, we could be seeing the legendary monster very soon.
Finally, during this week’s episode of Legends of Tomorrow, we received our very first trailer for the crossover event, titled Heroes Vs. Aliens. Worlds collide as Barry introduces Kara to Team Arrow and Team Legends.
Synopses normally are posted on Thursdays or Fridays, however, nothing has been released yet for the crossover. Keep it here, though, as we’ll be sure to tell you about them the moment they are. Regardless, we already have many exciting things to look forward to and, until then, make sure to tune in to ‘Changing’ on November 14th, ‘Shade’ on November 15th, ‘Vigilante’ on November 16th, and ‘Outlaw Country’ on November 17th all at 8/7c on The CW.
