Tonight, Legends of Tomorrow continues its crazy second season with episode 2×03, ‘Shogun.’ Nate Heywood accidentally sends the team to Feudal Japan and, as always, whacky hijinks ensue.
The CW has released a couple of sneak preview clips from tonight’s episode to get us all wound up.
Up first is this scene, presumably from early in the episode. Vixen (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) sneaks aboard the Waverider and takes out the crew one-by-one. After Rex Tyler’s death at the hands of a “time traveler” (his final words), it seems Vixen assumes it must have been one of the Legends. Fortunately, Dr. Heywood (Nick Zano) discovers a few superpowers of his own:
Up next we have an inside look at ‘Shogun’ with Legends executive producer Marc Guggenheim. The footage is mostly taken from the episode trailer, but there are a few new bits. Guggenheim also reveals the episode will take inspiration from the films of acclaimed Japanese director Akira Kirosawa:
Here’s the full official synopsis for tonight’s episode, written by Phil Klemmer & Grainne Godfree and directed by Kevin Tancharoen:
SECRETS AND NEW FOUND POWERS — Nate (Nick Zano) is shocked to learn that he has powers but then accidentally lands himself and Ray (Brandon Routh) in Feudal Japan. After Sara (Caity Lotz) convinces their stowaway Amaya (Maisie Richardson-Sellers), AKA Vixen, that Rory (Dominic Purcell) is not a murderer, they all agree to find Nate and help him master his powers in order to defend the Japanese village from the Shogun and his army of samurai warriors. Meanwhile, Jax (Franz Drameh) and Stein (Victor Garber) stay back to help fix the ship and find a secret compartment but decide not to tell the rest of the team what they learn.
Last, but not least, in case you missed it, here’s the trailer for tonight’s Legends episode:
