New ‘Supergirl’ & ‘Arrow’ Trailers Showcase Upcoming Seasons

The countdown to the new seasons of all our favorite Arrowverse shows is coming to a close. We’re exactly one week away from the premiere of The Flash Season 3. Arrow will begin its fifth season the next night, with Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow the following week.

The CW continues to ramp up our anticipation with the release of new trailers and details. Just yesterday, we got a full two-minute clip from the Supergirl Season 2 premiere, ‘The Adventures of Supergirl.’

Now we have new trailers for both Arrow and Supergirl, plus a sizzle reel for all of The CW’s fall shows.

New Supergirl Trailer

The new Supergirl trailer (above) features what appears to be the moments just after yesterday’s clip. Again, the focus here is on Superman, but let’s face it: he is the big draw for the premiere. And it’s not just the Man of Steel; Cat Grant seems to be going gaga over his alter-ego, Clark Kent. The entire episode looks like a lot of fun, especially in light of the dour big screen Superman we’ve had the past few years. (Also, the trailer features the show’s first solid mention of Batman’s Gotham City).

Arrow: ‘Meet the Team’

Arrow also got a new teaser this week titled “Meet the Team.” It’s a short trailer (the entire video is 30 seconds long, but only 13 seconds is devoted to new footage). We once again are introduced to Oliver’s new Team Arrow members: Wild Dog, Artemis and Mr. Terrific (aka Curtis Holt). The trailer ends with a zinger from Wild Dog: “Robin Hood needs his band of Merry Men, right?”

All of the Upcoming CW Shows

Finally, The CW also released a new sizzle reel to promote their entire fall line-up. In addition to Supergirl, Arrow, The Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow, we get a few glimpses of Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries, My Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, The Originals, No Tomorrow, Jane the Virgin, and Frequency.

True be told, it’s an almost embarrassingly cheesy trailer. While there do seem to be a few moments taken from actual episodes, most of it is specially-shot promo footage. Add that to the painfully bad “Dare to Defy” CW theme song and… it’s all pretty cringeworthy.

Remember: The Flash returns next Tuesday, October 4 at 8/7c. Arrow begins the following night, Wednesday, October 5 at 8/7c. Supergirl makes its CW debut on Monday, October 10 at 8/7c, and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow begins its second season on Thursday, October 13 at 8/7c.
