‘Arrow’ star Stephen Amell drops by to take a photo with new ‘Supergirl’ co-star Tyler Hoechlin
No, it’s not the beginning of an epic crossover episode, but two stars from The CW’s superhero shows did manage to meet up this week for a great behind-the-scenes photo. Arrow star Stephen Amell stopped by the Vancouver location where Supergirl is currently shooting Metropolis scenes with new Superman actor Tyler Hoechlin and posted a pic to Instagram for fans to drool over.
In its first season, Supergirl was filmed in Los Angeles, but as part of the move to The CW this year, the show has shifted production to Vancouver, home of fellow CW superhero shows Arrow, The Flash, and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.
Amell is not in costume in the photo, likely he was either on his way to work or dropped by during a break in filming. Hoechlin, however, was in full Superman regalia as he continues to shoot films set in Metropolis this week (as opposed to Supergirl’s home base of National City):
A four-way crossover between all four shows is promised for this fall, but Arrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim recently tried to temper expectations, says Supergirl would be coming to the Arrowverse, but not the other way around. So don’t expect Winn and Cisco to be trading jokes anytime soon.
All four shows are currently in production with premiere dates scheduled for October. Arrow will begin its fifth season on Wednesday, October 5 at 8/7c on The CW, while Supergirl will premiere its second season the following Monday, October 10 at 8/7c.
