Routh answers fan questions about past and future projects
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Superman Returns (has it really been that long?!), former Clark Kent Brandon Routh took part in a Reddit AMA yesterday, and talked not only about his work on that film, but Legends of Tomorrow and other projects.
Routh has fond memories of Superman Returns and calls it his “favorite project.” He reveals quite a bit in the Q&A about his favorite scenes to film and working with the cast and crew.
On the Legends of Tomorrow front, Routh says he loves working with Dominic Purcell (Mick Rory) because he has “a strong view point of his world,” and the two of them “have fun scenes kind of taking the piss out of each other.”
Routh says he’s very excited about Season 2 of Legends of Tomorrow, which is “filled with fun new changes!” As far as the big crossover event is concerned, Routh hopes to make appearances on Arrow, The Flash, AND Supergirl next season.
Speaking of Supergirl, when Routh was asked for his thoughts on Tyler Hoechlin’s recent casting as Superman, he had this to say: “I wish him the best and hope to meet him if Ray gets to crossover to Supergirl!”
Here’s hoping for a scene featuring not only Ray Palmer and Superman, but Dean Cain’s Jeremiah Danvers, as well — the complete Superman trifecta!
Routh also said he hopes to do more comedy projects in the coming years and spoke briefly about working on Maria Bamford’s Netflix series Lady Dynamite (which is hilarious, by the way).
Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl are both on summer hiatus at the moment, but should begin filming their second seasons in the next few weeks. Routh will appear with co-stars Caity Lotz and Victor Garber on a Legends of Tomorrow panel at San Diego Comic-Con on July 13. Legends returns for its second season on Thursday, October 13, at 8/7c on The CW.
