Actor Josh Segarra will portray Star City’s new District Attorney, Adrian Chase

The casting news just keeps on coming this week! With Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) no longer in the picture on Arrow, it has been revealed that Adrian Chase will be the new Star City District Attorney, played by actor Josh Segarra.

Described as an “ally of Mayor Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), who aims to clean up the streets through the legal system,” Chase is a longtime comic book character from the pages of DC Comics. After the District Attorney’s family is killed, Chase seeks vengeance and becomes the vigilante known as…Vigilante!

Segarra comes to Arrow fresh off his recurring role on NBC’s Chicago P.D. and previously starred in Sirens on USA. He was also featured in last year’s Amy Schumer comedy Trainwreck from director/producer Judd Apatow.

Chase will be a series regular next season, joining Echo Kellum, who is being promoted to regular in his role as Curtis Holt. It makes sense for the District Attorney to have a regular appearance next season on Arrow, as much of the focus seems to be on Ollie’s new role as mayor of Star City.

Oddly enough, this is the second new vigilante character announced in as many days. Last night, it was revealed that Rick Gonzalez will be joining the Arrow cast in a recurring role as Wild Dog, a Punisher-like anti-hero whom the Green Arrow takes under his wing.

Still to be announced is the season’s big villain, though a casting notice has made the rounds. We should be hearing something on that role any day now, presumably.
