Screenwriter behind highly-acclaimed Kevin Smith-directed episode will join the show in Season Three
Hot off the heels of his successful guest-writing stint, writer Zack Stentz has announced he will join The Flash full-time next season as a Consulting Producer. Stentz wrote last week’s extremely well-received episode, “The Runaway Dinosaur,” which was directed by geek filmmaker Kevin Smith.
Stentz made the announcement himself on Twitter this past Friday:
Small announcement. I had such a fun time on @CW_TheFlash episode 221 that I’ve returned as a consulting producer for season 3. So stoked!

In addition to writing/producing The Flash, Stentz is currently writing the Booster Gold movie for Arrowverse co-creator/executive producer Greg Berlanti. Stentz confirmed that news on the latest episode of Screen Junkies’ “Movie Fight,” saying, “I am jumping into the DC Universe with both feet, and I am at least, until they fire me, I’m gonna be writing Booster Gold — for the big screen.”
Stentz previously co-scripted the superhero blockbusters Thor and X-Men: First Class, as well as the upcoming Power Rangers movie. He’s no stranger to television though, having served as a writer/producer on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Fringe and writing for Gene Roddenberry’s Andromeda and UPN’s ill-fated 2003 Twilight Zone reboot.
Kevin Smith recently announced that he’s returning to direct another episode of The Flash this fall and that it will likely be written by Stentz again, so we know Stentz will be writing at least one upcoming episode in his new role.
