Arrow star talks about Laurel’s death and teases season finale in new interview
In its first few seasons, death was a permanent fixture on Arrow. Robert Queen, Tommy Merlyn, Moria Queen: all were killed and never returned. In the years since, though, death has been more of an inconvenience. Sara Lance returned from the dead twice, Andy Diggle turned up alive, Thea Queen was revived by the Lazarus Pit, and even Oliver Queen himself escaped death at the hands of Ra’s al Ghul.
So when beloved character Laurel Lance met with an untimely end a few weeks ago, many fans speculated that her death would be short-lived. Sure, her father, Captain Lance, tried and failed to find a way to resurrect her, but this is Arrow: she’ll be back, right? Well, producers have been adamant that Laurel is truly gone, and now Arrow star Stephen Amell is confirming just that.
In a preview clip from an upcoming episode of Larry King Now, host Larry King (who most certainly had never watched nor heard of Arrow prior to this interview) asks Amell if there’s any chance Laurel will return:
In a separate clip, King reads a viewer question from Twitter, asking Amell to describe the season finale in three words:
The full interview with Amell will air on Ora.tv on May 27, so stay tuned for more.
Of course, we will have a chance to see Katie Cassidy as Laurel Lance at least a few more times in the near future. On the May 17 episode of The Flash, Cassidy will guest-star as the Earth-2 Laurel, also known as Black Siren. And later this summer, Cassidy will lend her voice to the second season of the web series Vixen.
Despite all of the denials, it’s always possible that Laurel could return and this is all a false flag campaign designed to throw us off. In any case, we’ll have all the latest on Arrow and all the other Arrowverse shows, so be sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr for up-to-the-minute details!
