The Waverider will make room for two new series regulars in Season Two
With three episodes left to air in its freshman season, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is already gearing up for next year. TVLine reports that casting calls are currently out for two new roles set to be part of the show when it returns next season.
The first role is described as “A male in his late-20s to mid-30s is being sought to play a guy who grew up in the shadow of his World War II hero grandfather and has used a Han Solo-like facade to conceal his insecurity — until, that is, the development of super powers enables him to love up to his family legacy.”
It’s an interesting description with a lot of possibilities. Which Golden Age superhero was his grandfather? How many DC heroes match this description?
The other role is for a “female member of an elite paramilitary team living in the 1940s. An African-American, she is scrutinized in her time for both her gender and race and thus has worked twice as hard to be a perfect soldier. That said, she blames herself for — and aims to avenge — the death of a team member for whom she had repressed feelings.”
This one’s intriguing, as well. Since she’s “living in the 1940s,” could she be a contemporary of the first character’s superhero grandfather? Is she another Golden Age hero herself?
All of this is in addition to the mystery hero that’s set to appear in the season finale, played by Suit‘s Patrick J. Adams. All we know about him is that he “wears a cape.” Could he be tied to one or both of these new characters, as well?
What do you think? Do any DC superheroes match these descriptions? Which actors would you cast based on these casting calls?
