John Diggle is not taking Laurel’s death lightly in “Genesis”

Arrow returns next Wednesday with “Canary Cry,” the 19th episode of Season 4, which will show the team grieving with the loss of Laurel Lance. A new synopsis for the following episode, airing May 4, finds at least one member of Team Arrow out for vengeance:

DIGGLE IS CONSUMED WITH GUILT AND SEEKS REVENGE – As Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) look for a magical solution to defeat Darhk (guest star Neal McDonough), a vengeance-driven Diggle (David Ramsey) gets a lead on Andy’s (guest star Eugene Byrd) whereabouts and heads off to confront his brother. Meanwhile, Alex (guest star Parker Young) takes Thea (Willa Holland) on a vacation that quickly turns into a nightmare. Gregory Smith directed the episode written by Oscar Balderrama & Emilio Ortega Aldrich.

With the exception of the Diggle storyline, this actually sounds a bit mundane. “Oliver and Felicity look for a magical solution to defeat Darhk”? That could almost describe every episode this season. And the b-plot with Thea sounds like just an excuse to find something interesting to do with her character — though I’m hoping it’s much more.

Arrow is back next Wednesday at 8:00 PM with “Canary Cry,” and the above episode, “Genesis,” will air the following week. We’ll have more info on both of these upcoming episodes as it becomes available. Be sure to follow us on Facebook and Twitter for all the latest!
