Gustin took home a trophy surfboard for ‘Choice TV Actor: Sci-Fi/Fantasy’
Last night in Inglewood, California, the annual Teen Choice Awards ceremony was held and The Flash star Grant Gustin was one of the big winners.
Gustin took the trophy for “Choice TV Actor: Sci-Fi/Fantasy,” after competing against the likes of Andrew Lincoln from The Walking Dead, Jared Padalecki from Supernatural, Joseph Morgan from The Originals, and Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder from The Vampire Diaries.
After accepting the surfboard prize, Gustin’s acceptance speech was short and sweet. “Thank you guys so much. This is really cool. Thank you for voting. I got the coolest job in the world. I love to play this character. I get to work with the best cast and crew and creative team in the business. So, I just love my job. And thank you guys for voting for me.”
Last year, Gustin was nominated three times at the Teen Choice Awards — twice for “Chemistry” and “Liplock” with co-star Candice Patton, and once for “Choice TV: Breakout Star,” which he won.
Both The Flash and Arrow were nominated for “Choice TV Show: Sci-Fi/Fantasy,” but lost to Once Upon a Time. Gustin’s co-star Danielle Panabaker and Arrow star Emily Bett Rickards were both nominated for “Choice TV Actress: Sci-Fi/Fantasy,” but lost out to Lana Parrilla, also from Once Upon a Time.
